McCune Family Scrapbook Collection

Description

Born in Petoskey in 1907, Allan McCune was a member of the Petoskey Historical Commission, the group that worked to create the Little Traverse Historical Society Museum. He was a member of the school board and served on the board of both Little Traverse and Lockwood Hospitals. He was interested in history, particularly railroad history, and often gave talks for the historical society as well as other service groups. His extensive photograph collection, in four scrapbooks, was donated to the Little Traverse Historical Society. Mr. McCune died in 1996 and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery.

The collection currently contains the contents of the first of the four scrapbooks, plus select images related to transportation from scrapbooks two and four. The remaining images from the scrapbooks will be added by the end of March, 2024.
